Description: Renovation of building
Project Summary:
The IUPUI Rotary Building located in downtown Indianapolis is a 90 year old building that recently needed to be renovated. Huston Electric was chosen to be a part of the renovation team that headed up the project. The building got a total makeover inside, and Huston was in charge of installing all interior and exterior lighting, lighting control, fire alarm, communications, data, and emergency power systems. Huston was also in charge of upgrading the infrastructure of the building which involved installing new switchgear, subpanels, automatic transfer switches, and all high voltage work. After the renovation, the building is now L.E.E.D. certified, which means it is eco-friendly and energy efficient. The lighting package features energy and cost efficient LED lights that aid in making the building L.E.E.D. certified. The lighting control system is state of the art and features motion control sensors instead of switches in the rooms. With over 98% of the building being on motion sensor lighting control instead of switches, that also helps in making the building more energy efficient. Huston Electric was glad be a part of this project that featured an eco-friendly attitude and was willing to work to make sure that the project was completed in the most energy efficient ways possible.
