While Eight38 can work with ready-made artwork, or utilize your existing logo and copy to create graphics for your business, vehicle, print media, or signs, we can also help you from the very beginning with all your branding and logo creation needs.
When opening or rebranding a business there are tons of things to consider, but it’s important not to overlook your logo which sets the tone for your business and becomes your customers first impression as they view your advertisement, website, or look for your sign when driving to your business. Your logo is often seen not only on your sign and storefront, but also on shirts, letterhead, business cards, vehicle graphics, websites, social media, and much more. Beyond having a quality logo, it’s important to have clean logo files – and to be the owner of those logo files. At Eight38 we not only help you to create your logo, we also give you the files in multiple formats – which you’ll need when you sponsor that little league team, or take an ad out in the paper. We also give you information on your pms colors, and discuss early on how the logo will transfer to different uses such as using a single color logo or utilizing your logo for embroidery on uniforms.
Daniel Ellrich, who specializes in logo creation, is one of Eight38’s Graphic Designers. We asked him about his approach to designing a logo, of which he said, “When I’m asked to create a logo for a new company, I tend to dive all in. I usually start out by simply typing the name of the company and staring at it for several minutes. I look at the letters, I look at the spacing between the letters, and I look for balance in the words/name of the company. I start to sketch out concepts and anything that I can think of that relates to the company name. I always try and get my coworkers involved in the process because great design is hardly accomplished by one person. “
We also asked what makes his logos STAND OUT. Daniel said, “I try to incorporate the essence of the business, as simply as possible, into my design. I love to include subtle hints as to what the business does into my designs. For example Grants Heavy Duty Service repairs large trucks and heavy machinery so I wanted to incorporate a wrench or a tool somehow without just drawing a wrench. I played with the G and was able to hide a wrench head in the letter. In the logo for Integrity Towing and Roadside service I was able to turn the Y into a tow truck arm and dot the “I” with the Hook, its taking something ordinary and turning into something original.”
What does your logo say about you? Is it something that you’d be proud to have on your business? Your car? Your shirt? If you are in need of a new logo or a logo update call Eight38, we’ll make you and your business STAND OUT!
